Now A Law Is Named After Snooki!

For those of you, who might have yelled ‘what the hell’ on knowing that now there is going to be a law named after Snooki, frankly can rest easy. As it’s not something that, Snooki can really be proud of. In fact, the law proposes that the towns in which reality shows are shot, shall have the discretion to regulate and license the filming of the shows, keeping the law and order situation and other factors in mind.

Also, it shall be required of the shows, to foot the bill for extra police officers for public safety. The law has been dubbed the “Snookiville” law after the “Jersey Shore” star. What this basically means is, Jersey Shore managed to create so much of a nuisance while it was being shot in New Jersey that, a law is being brought into effect, just so similar shows can be produced more responsibly. It might be time for Snooki and fans of such reality shows to yell ‘what the hell’, as this law might clip the wings of many a reality show that, are soon slated to air or are in the pipeline.

Snooki herself recently faced a problem. Her upcoming show “Snooki & JWoww,” was denied a request for a filming permit in Hoboken because the series would have required a 24-hour permit, in violation of the city’s laws. The show eventually shifted base to Jersey City. This would have come as a great relief to many a Snooki fan, as they would still get to keep seeing her. But with this law put in place, once can only guess for how long.

Ironically, although the law is named after her, she and others like her might end up being victims of it. As many towns might simply deny reality shows the requisite permission, which could create issue for their makers. Hence, they too must be yelling ‘what the hell’. “These shows can attract crowds, which can benefit local businesses and challenge a community’s resources,” said Dancer the New Jersey state assemblyman who pushed for this law. “This bill will permit local officials to make sure taxpayers don’t get ‘Snook’-ered or public safety is compromised when reality stars such as Snooki or J-Woww come to town” he added. Poor Snooki, ‘what they hell’ were the officials thinking when they decided to sully her name in this manner? All Snooki fans should rise up and protest.
