Justin Beiber The First Artist To Achieve 3 Billion YouTube Views!

Submitted by on October 23, 2012 – 10:21 am Comments

One really has to yell ‘what the hell’ on knowing that Justin Beiber’s videos on YouTube have been viewed 3 billion times. Well for those of you who have begun counting the zeroes in a billion, let’s make it simple. 3 billion is 3 followed by 9 zeroes, which is how many times Beiber’s videos have been viewed by people world over. The news would make many yell ‘what the hell’ and some would even exclaim that, most countries don’t have a population of 3 billion, which makes this achievement that much more amazing.

This new feat of Beiber’s comes nearly a year after he became the first person to surpass the 2bn views milestone. Basically, the singer’s latest clip ‘Beauty and a Beat’, which features Nicki Minaj, helped push him past the milestone after it became the most-viewed video during its first 24 hours online. The video has so far accumulated 44 million views on YouTube, which helped Beiber top the 3 billion total views mark. At this rate, the 4 billion mark doesn’t seem too far away, and this time round maybe just 6 more months should do it.

There are many detractors of Beiber who would argue that, 3 billion views doesn’t necessarily mean, 3 billion people watched his videos, which is absolutely true. But, let us do the math here, if each of his fans watched his videos a 1000 times, even then at least 3 million people have watched his videos on YouTube which is still amazing, and let us face the truth here most might have not watched him a 1000 times, however big a fan they are.

So, let’s bring that number down to a 500, which would make it 6 million; yes time to yell ‘what the hell’ once again, in amazement. Besides, Bieber is also close to becoming the most-followed person on Twitter. The star currently has 29.3m followers and trails behind Lady GaGa’s 30.5m. It doesn’t seem long before Beiber begins creating records even on Twitter. Wonder, how many followers or views Elvis would have gotten, if Twitter and YouTube were around at his time.
