Chris Brown Yelled At By His Own Lawyer in Court!

Well, Chris Brown does need some disciplining no doubt, but who would have thought he would get yelled at by his very own lawyer, and that too in a courtroom. If you are yelling ‘what the hell’ in disbelief, you can’t really be blamed. In fact, Brown too must have yelled ‘what the hell’ in his head when his lawyer talked him down, and that too in front of the whole courtroom. If only Brown’s parents had done the same when he was a child, he wouldn’t be sitting in a courtroom today, some would argue.

Anyway, coming back to the subject at hand, Brown was in the midst of yet another probation hearing for his 2009 assault case against Rihanna, this one stemming from the drug use suspicions back in September. Then while seeking permission from the court to go on a world tour, Brown committed the mistake of going ahead and asking for it directly from the judge, rather than going through his attorney.  This cheesed off his attorney Mark Geragos to no end, and he decided to give Brown a piece of his mind.

In the bargain he also exhibited his caustic wit, when he said to the 23- year-old Brown “I don’t dance, you don’t talk”. Reportedly, even the judge Patricia Schnegg was greatly amused by this show of wit on the attorney’s part. She too must have yelled ‘what the hell’ in her head, as this was probably the only occasion or one of those rare occasions when she heard an attorney reprimand his own client. Schnegg in fact had a good laugh and said she would enjoy seeing Geragos try to dance.

She granted Chris permission to travel abroad, with the understanding that he check in afterwards to give a progress update. Surely, the fact that someone like Chris was told off publicly must have given the judge immense pleasure, and must have put her in a good enough mood to grant Chris’s request. Chris is due back in court on January 17th for another hearing. It would be interesting to see whether Geragos on the 17th gets another opportunity to exhibit that wit of his.
