We see that ‘Taken 2’, the Liam Neeson action-packed thriller, managed to keep the throne for another week. However, Ben Affleck’s new film ‘Argo’ was right behind. With Sinister taking the spot of ‘Pitch Perfect’ this week showed that it was the battle of the thrillers and action rather than comedy and family. The Top 5 for this week are:

1. Taken 2 – Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) returns for another adventure as the former CIA agent is forced to act again, but this time to save his and his wife’s life! They are kidnapped and taken to Istanbul. With the help of Kim, his wife, Bryan must find a way to safety as the two fight to stay alive in a treacherous adventure much worse than the first. With his “unique” ways to protect, he has to take care of the one he dears again. He and his wife have to take out the hostages and run back to safety.

2. Argo – True Story of the Covert Operation ‘Argo’ that managed to rescue six Americans from Iran during the hostage crisis that was hidden from the public for decades. With the teams moving in to rescue the hostages, it becomes clear that there is more to this than they were trained for. Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) leads the team as they go into a territory unfamiliar to them.

3. Sinister – When a true crime novelist finds a box of home movies, he finds that out that they are disturbing and have grotesque images. This makes his family turn from a peace loving bunch to an experience of the supernatural and horror. Starring Ethan Hawke as the father figure, it is a tale of frightening experiences that terrify a family after a mysterious find.

4. Hotel Transylvania – Dracula has a five-star resort that hosts monsters and their families. This is to give them a sense of peace from the humans trying to bother them. Mavis, his daughter is about to hit her 118th birthday and he wants everything to be perfect. Dracula invites monsters from all over the world. Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more are coming and they have everything ready. When a human makes his way into the castle of monsters and falls in love with Dracula’s daughter, things get a little weirder than they already are.

5. Here Comes The Boom – Former collegiate wrestler, Scott Voss, teaches Biology at a High School on the brink of closing. At age 42, Scott hasn’t done much and when cutbacks are brought up, he starts to moonlight as a MMA fighter. In all this, Scott becomes the driving force for the school to bounce back.

That’s it for the Top 5! Here Comes The Boom in the 5th spot, it is good to see a brand of comedy amongst thrillers and action films. With Halloween approaching, this is the perfect set up to scare you out of your pants for sure. What do you think of the line-up? What movie are you seeing?
