Submitted by on December 19, 2012 – 7:02 am Comments

the-voice-season-3Nicholas David, Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope were 3 contestants in the Finals of NBC’s ‘The Voice’ that aired for the past few months. Now the journey is over for them on the show as the singing competition show has counted the votes and declared a winner last night! With the Finale being packed with singers such as: Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, “The Killers”, Avril Lavigne and even Smokey Robinson and Peter Frampton, the show was an exciting night as the finalists got to sing with pop and soul legends.

In the end, it was declared that Cassadee Pope was to be this years winner. Nicholas David, the soul singer with a long beard similar to ZZ Top, came in 3rd place and Terry McDermott, the Scottish rocker with a perfect rock voice, came in 2nd place. The two singers are surely going to be putting out records within the next year. Cassadee Pope, the Pop/Country/Rock blending singer, has accomplished more than any other 22-year-old has done. With her pitch perfect singing and connection to the audience, she was able to clench the win.

Living in Los Angeles, Pope has been trying to make it in the music industry for a little while. With the win, she is going to have an album withTHE-VOICE-FINAL-3_510x317 Universal Music and be able to give the real Pop/Rock/Country Diva we all know she is. Many are already excited to be purchasing her album and hint that she is going to outsell the other two champions of the show, Javier Colon and Jermaine Paul (both of which are soul/R&B singers and haven’t done too well). Surely Pope has more of a fan base because she is, as many people have said, is a lot better than past seasons.

Another twist, that many knew already, that was revealed was that Shakira and Usher will be joining the coaches’ panel and Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green are leaving to pursue other things. Cassadee told USA Today that, “I mean, the closer I got, the more I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this could happen.’ But, at the beginning, with all those big voices and all those people, I just felt like I was getting swallowed in the group. The further I got, I felt like I was starting to stand out a little bit, which is great,” Congratulations Cassadee Pope. It is well deserved!
