Alphas cancelledThose of you, who like the TV show Alphas, are in for some disappointing news. Turns out, the show has been cancelled by SyFy, the network on which it aired for its two seasons. For those unaware, the show is about a bunch of human beings who have enhanced abilities bordering on the superhuman. They are a part of team called the Alphas and this team is led by a man named Dr. Lee Rosen. It is not only Rosen’s job to lead the team but also guide the team members, by helping each of them harness their considerable skills. The team investigates the death of a witness in court case and concludes there is more to the whole issue than meets the eye.

The show had an interesting concept, which might even remind many of the X-Men. The cast members of the show were also disappointed with its cancellation and voiced their sadness through social networking sites. “Unfortunately #Alphas is cancelled,” one of the cast members Ryan Cartwright tweeted.  Warren Christie and Azita Ghanizada two other cast members of the show also confirmed the news. Ghanizada also expressed her views about, her role on the show and the other cast and crew members by tweeting “What an honor to get to play Rachel for 2 years & to work w/ & for the MOST AMAZING PEOPLE EVER.”  “Thanks for tuning in the last couple of years!” Christie simply told her fans.

It seems the cast weren’t really aware of the fact that the show would be cancelled and probably must have been Alphas cancelled SyFyinformed about it just recently. SyFy on its part also released an official statement that says: “Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”

Well the statement doesn’t delve into the reasons behind the show’s cancellation and one can only assume the network wasn’t too happy with its ratings. It would be interesting to see if the makers of the show take it to another network. Many viewers would probably want that, as the show did have some steam left when it came to its story and could have gone on for a few more seasons.
