SNL To See Jason Sudeikis Again

Submitted by on September 12, 2012 – 2:00 pm Comments

Everyone was assuming that the departure of Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg from SNL would also mean that very soon it shall be Jason Sudeikis’s turn. But all such rumors have been put to rest, by the creator of the show Lorne Michaels who revealed that “Jason is in. Right now, the idea is that Jason will go through at least until January”. This revelation must have come as good news for Jason’s fans, who were probably keeping their fingers crossed and praying that, they at least for now keep seeing Jason on the show.

“Saturday Night Live” premieres Saturday, Sept. 15 with host Seth MacFarlane and musical guest Frank Ocean, followed up by Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s return on Sept. 22 and Daniel Craig’s hosting debut on Sept. 29. As can be observed, SNL for the near future has quite a line up, and therefore its a little wonder that, it’s ready to lose some of its regular actors if it has to. Jason probably is being retained by the show because he does an impression of Mitt Romney that, is worth witnessing.

In addition to playing the Massachusetts governor really well, some would say he also has a fair amount of resemblance to Romney. Therefore with the elections round the corner and Romney a presidential candidate, it’s no surprise that the channel needs someone like Jason who can lampoon this popular politician. As far as SNL is concerned, its present season that it’s going to launch now would be its 38th, which by itself is quite the achievement.

Over the years, the popularity of this show hasn’t really waned and therefore it still keeps attracting some of the biggest celebrities in the business. Jason on his part must be pretty happy, to still be a part of the show. Jason besides doing comedy on SNL has recently appeared in the movie ‘The Campaign’. Besides, in 2013 he has a few other movies that are slated for release, one of them is ‘Movie 43’ a comedy, which has an ensemble cast, that includes the likes of Gerard Butler, Hugh Jackman and Emma Stone amongst others. In retrospect, here’s hoping Sudeikis can keep entertaining us and making us laugh for years to come, both through SNL and through his movies.
