‘Sesame Street’ Tries To Include Adults With ‘Birdwalk Empire’
For years, ‘Sesame Street’ has encouraged parents to watch their show along with their children rather than just flopping them in front of the TV screen. This was done with such parody videos for hit shows like ‘True Blood’ and ‘Mad Men’. The latest in their list of parodies is from ‘Boardwalk Empire’, which is in the middle of its Second Season on HBO.
The creators of the puppets decided to take two gangs and try to decide what way to walk down the “Birdwalk”. Whether this was with quacking, clucking or even flapping! The parody has the two gangs getting interrupted by Agent Van Cuckoo, the law. With the witty humor and cleaver (close-to-the-real) names like Nucky Ducky Thompson, Clucky Luciano and Mallard Capone, it gives the adults the chance to sit down with their children.
Growing up with the educational show, many remember the catchy number song from 1-12. Many of whom still remember the melody to it. Throughout the years, ‘Sesame Street’ has introduced many new characters fro everyone to enjoy. They show their creativity as always and always give it their best. With the creativity from the costumes down to replacing beer bottles with Cracker packages, it is clear that this was a good move on the development team.
Still, it is always fun to watch as many of the characters who adults remember are still on the show. Many feel that it is a good thing that the show is trying different tactics to draw in more viewers. The adults who have children know that you can never go wrong with the show and it is easy to try to put your child in front of the TV and let them go to town. However, with these types of videos, it is sure to be a hit amongst the adults.
Anyway you look at it as many will as well; it is just a great show that moves with the times. Imagine having the ‘Sesame Street’ now that was back 15 years ago. Kids are more mature than that nowadays. Check out the video of ‘Birdwalk Empire’ below.
