Roseanne Barr Roped In For ‘The Office’The TV show The Office might soon wrap up but that hasn’t stopped its makers from roping in some famous guest stars for it. The latest addition to the cast it’s being reported would be Roseanne Barr. She shall be essaying the role of a talent agent named Carla Fern, who shall be shown assisting Andy in pursuing his showbiz dreams. Andy’s role for those who might have forgotten is essayed by Ed Helms, the guy we know so well thanks to The Hangover films. It’s been a while since the character of Andy has made an appearance on the show; hence it would be interesting to see him return.

For those unaware, The Office is a show that is made in a mockumentary format and revolves around a group of people working at a typical office. It focuses on the day to day workings of the office and its employees. The employees indulge in inappropriate behavior, office rivalry etc. and that leads to humorous situations. The show is based on a hit BBC show of the same name. In fact, Ricky Gervais gained all the popularity that he did, thanks to the UK version of The Office. Basically, he used to play in the UK version the same role that Steve Carell later used to play in the American version.

Interestingly, Paul Giamatti, Martin Short, Bob Odenkirk, and Hank Azaria were all considered for the role of Michael Scott before Steve Carell Roseanne-Barr-For-‘The-Officewas cast. Looking back at how well Carell essayed his role while he was a part of the show, most would agree that he was an apt choice. Although, there is no denying the fact that the others names that have been mentioned and were considered are also great comedians and would have probably done as great a job as Carell.

The series has also had several guest directors, including Lost co-creator J. J. Abrams, Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon, both of whom are fans of the series, and filmmakers Harold Ramis, Jason Reitman, and Marc Webb. Several of the writers have also directed episodes, as well actors on the show including Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, Ed Helms, and Brian Baumgartner. The series has 11 more episodes to go, before it comes to an end for good. It has been mentioned that a feature film adaptation of the series is possible after the series ends its run.
