Robert Pattinson’s First Interview Post Break Up

Robert pattinson and Kristen Stewart on the red carpetRobert Pattinson is surely struggling to cope in the wake of the Kristen Stewart-Rupert Sanders affair scandal. Robert Pattinson’s first very public interview since his break up with Kristen Stewart aired last night. Though it’s obvious the Twilight star was broken hearted, he did not bash Kristen. Jon Stewart offered Pattinson some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream on the Comedy Central hit “The Daily Show” and joked that they were just “two gals catching up.”

Though no one would blame him if he did do a little bashing, Pattinson took the high road in his interview. He refused to publicly discuss the scandal. Sources close to the “Daily Show” said that Pattinson seemed very anxious about answering the Kristen Stewart-Rupert Sanders affair questions. But Pattinson refused.

When Jon Stewart first hinted at the scandal, Pattinson dismissed it by saying that he would not say anything. Thankfully Jon didn’t press him too hard, simply saying “I wish you the best, these things happen when you’re young.”

Though Pattinson did not directly mention the affair or Kristen, he did mention the breakup, stating “My biggest problem in my life is that I’m cheap, and I didn’t hire a publicist.” Pattinson, who has also kept a low profile when it comes to his relationships, has nearly been in hiding since he learned last month about Kristen’s affair with Rupert Sanders, who directed the film “Snow White and the Huntsmen” in which Kristen played the lead, Snow White.

Sadly, outside of the studio, Pattinsons fans booed at him as his limo entered the studio, because it did not stop. I’m sure he’s not ready to be bombarded with so many people dying to know his personal, private business.Robert Pattinson

The conversation finally led to Pattinson’s latest film, “Cosmopolis” which just premiered in New York on Monday. Pattinson asked his “Twilight” fans to help “Cosmopolis” to have a better weekend than “The Dark Knight Rises.” “The problem is, it’s only opening in six cinemas. It’s going to be a challenge. Just buy eight tickets,” the 26 year old actor joked, though I’m sure there are some Twi-hards out there who would actually do it, just for R.Pat!

The interview ended when Stewart gave the actor some encouraging advice. Stewart told him that he knows he’s going through some hard, weird times. He told him to get a handle on his business in private, and then wished him all the best, finally saying “You’re a nice guy.” Yes you are Pattinson. And you definitely secured that title with such a respectful interview.
