NASCAR Safe At FOX Through 2022

Submitted by on October 15, 2012 – 9:33 am Comments

It looks as if NASCAR has a home at the FOX Network for a long while still. The network decided to sign the racing enterprise to another 8 year contract after the contact is set to expire in 2014. To put it simply, NASCAR is not going away! This is great news to fans that follow the fast cars and pristine driving skills. With this new deal that the two enterprises struck, the FOX Network is making sure that the racing show doesn’t branch out to other Sports Networks such as NBC and CBS.

Despite not improving the ratings that the car races receive, FOX has seen that they are steady and that they are not going anywhere anytime soon. USA Today has said “Rights fees need to increase somewhat in long-term deals if only to account for inflation. In Fox’s new deal, rights fees are expected to increase about 33% to $300 million annually — a relatively modest increase given MLB recently doubled its national TV money through new long-term deals.” Having the rights can be a costly ordeal for sure!

Let’s hope that everything will go nicely for the network and for NASCAR this year. With the sponsors at the ready, it is only right that they get some nice ones this year. Since the movie “Taledega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby”, NASCAR improved the ratings despite the many jokes they poked at the enterprise. Whichever direction the network decides to go with this is going to be just fine for the NASCAR fans, just as long as they will be able to enjoy their races.

What do you think of the race car driving that NASCAR offers? With the many loyal fans supporting the races, it is clear that they are going to be around for a long while under FOX’s watchful eye.  Many fans feel that NASCAR has been around a while, but that it hasn’t dulled a bit. Some feel that enough is enough of the Redneck sport. However, with Honey Boo Boo hitting up ratings all around America, maybe the rest of American needs to, as Alana says, “Redneckanize”!
