It was nearly during the end of Season 1 that Mario Bello had joined the cast of Touch. Her role in the show seemed pivotal, and she on her part essayed her role really well. In fact, even before the second season could begin it was revealed that she would become a regular on the show. It was probably due to the positive response her role received that such a decision was made. But, now it is being reported that Bello has exited the show. This news would surely come as a disappointment to many who were probably looking forward to seeing her in the future seasons of Touch.

There have been no official statements released regarding her exit, but reportedly the parting of ways between Maria and the makers of the show was mutual. The good news is Bello would make a regular appearance on the show throughout the second season which has already been shot. Now the challenge for the makers would be to find a way to write her out of the show for future seasons.

For those unaware, Touch is a show that revolves around Martin Bohm and his 11-yeard old son Jake. Bohm is a widower and single father who is haunted by an inability to connect with his emotionally challenged son Jake. But when Martin discovers that Jake can predict events before they happen, everything changes. The show has a really interesting premise and certain episodes of the show were really touching. Both, Kiefer Sutherland who essays the character of Bohm and David Mazouz who plays Jake, put in great performances throughout the first season. It would be interesting to see how much the writers of the show challenge Sutherland and Mazouz as actors in second season.

Also, there is the sheer curiosity about where the story of the show is now headed. Bello shall also probably play a very important part in this new season, as the daughter of her character (Lucy Robbins) on the show has gifts similar to that of Jake’s. So basically it seems, Bohm and Lucy would together look for answers instead of Bohm having to do all the running around by himself. It wouldn’t be surprising if the writers have also added a romantic angle between Bohm and Lucy and if they have, her exit would probably disappoint many even more.
