‘Made In Jersey’ Cancelled

Submitted by on October 10, 2012 – 1:00 pm Comments

‘Made In Jersey’ ran for only two episodes and is already being pulled from the schedule by CBS. CBS will shuffle its Friday night lineup and add “Undercover Boss” starting in November. Turns out, the show became a victim of really poor ratings with its first episode seeing a rating of 1.1 with 7.8 million viewers and then its next episode seeing an abysmal dip in the rating to a 0.8, with 6.8 million viewers. Season 4 of “Undercover Boss” will premiere on Friday, November 2 at 8 p.m. ET and “CSI: NY” will shift to 9 p.m. ET now that “Made In Jersey” has been removed from the Friday night lineup.

Agreed, the show did receive negative reviews on its debut, but by no stretch of the imagination was it the worst show of the season. One would in fact say that it was a bit of knee-jerk reaction on the part of the network to cancel the show after just 2 episodes. CBS probably could have allowed the show to run a few more episodes and seen if the ratings pick up.

For the uninitiated, ‘Made in Jersey’ was a show centered on a working-class woman who uses her street smarts to compete with her more polished colleagues at a top New York law firm. Janet Montgomery a British actress essayed the role of the protagonist named Martina Garretti.  Ahead of the “Undercover Boss” premiere in place of ‘Made In Jersey’, CBS will air repeats in the 8 p.m. slot, starting with “NCIS” on Oct. 12, “Hawaii Five-0″ on Oct. 19 and “NCIS” again on Oct. 26.

Therefore it looks like CBS has it all planned out. In fact, it looks as if CBS already was planning to cancel the show right after its debut; therefore it already had shows planned conveniently in order to replace ‘Made In Jersey’. It also has to be mentioned that, although several of Fall 2012′s new shows are struggling, “Made in Jersey” has the distinction of being the first one to be officially canceled. The distinction is unique, probably the people involved with the show can take solace in that.
