Is ‘The X-Files’ Coming Back To TV?

Submitted by on December 4, 2012 – 10:21 am Comments

All you Sci-Fi nuts will scream for joy because as it turns out, the former executive producer of the hit show ‘The X-Files’, Frank Spotnitz, thinks that a reboot is in the works. Sadly, the executive doesn’t want to be involved in it. This means that the door is open for a new star to rise. The third movie lacks a script even still and it is going to be a long road, but it is likely that anything can happen.

It was back in August when Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, the orginial stars of the hit movies and tv series, showed interest into making a third movie. However, FOX isn’t so enthusiastic in making the movie. They have said that they would love to do one and even more movies with the X Files.

Frank Spotnitz has said to DenofGeek pertaining to the TV series resurrecting, “”I wouldn’t be surprised at all. I mean, I don’t think I would have anything to do with it but you know, for better or for worse, these things are titles of big corporations, like ‘Star Trek’ belongs to Paramount and ‘The X-Files’ belongs to Twentieth Century Fox and it’s a huge asset in their libraries so I can’t imagine they would let it sit languishing forever … Anything could happen. I just hope that if they do it, they do it well, that’s my only request.”

This doesn’t give too much hope to ‘X-Files’ fans, but it is something. This is the first time hearing a possible reboot and depending when they make the movie and the success it has will determine whether or not the sci-fi series will return to the air. However, it would be interesting to see how they would do it.

Since ‘X Files’ the two have been pretty busy. Recent success is Anderson appearing in a BBC drama called ‘The Fall’ and Duchovny will return in his TV series ‘Californication’ in January 2013. It is always good when you see celebrities continuing their craft and bringing their brand of acting to their loyal fans.
