Is ‘The Cleveland Show’ Facing Cancellation?

The Cleveland Show getting cancelledNot many would argue with the fact that The Cleveland Show is one of those rare examples of Seth McFarlane not really being able to gauge what the viewers want. There was a lot of expectation from The Cleveland Show mainly because it’s a spinoff of Family Guy. But, it did not live up to the expectations, something which was proven by the poor ratings that the show has seen, since its inception.

Critics too weren’t kind to the show and with good reason. Basically, unlike Family Guy, The Cleveland Show simply isn’t funny. In fact it seems as if, all the jokes that are rejects from Family Guy are used for The Cleveland Show. Hence, it isn’t surprising that its being rumored the show might come to an end. Not only are the ratings a problem but also, it seems the production team really doesn’t have time to create new episodes for the show.

It’s understandable, because Family Guy is going great guns and so is MacFarlane’s other show American Dad, hence the team has The Cleveland Show cancelledto focus more on these two shows. Also, Macfarlane is slowly shifting his focus to films, there is Ted 2 that is lined up and there is also another film ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West’. If MacFarlane and his team had time and had focused on The Cleveland Show more than they have done till now, the fortunes of the show could have probably turned around.

But, most would agree that it’s too late in the day and its better if The Cleveland Show is brought to an end. For those unaware, The Cleveland Show is about Peter Griffin’s neighbor Cleveland Brown. Many years ago, Cleveland made a promise to his old high school sweetheart, Donna. Cleveland along with Cleveland Junior as a result move to Stoolbend, VA to start a new life with Donna and her two children. Interestingly, Cleveland was chosen to star in a spinoff of Family Guy because Joe was considered to be too eccentric and Quagmire would never learn anything at the end of every week.
