‘House of Lies’ ‘Californication’ and ‘Shameless’ RenewedFans of all the three comedy shows House of Lies, Californication and Shameless, which feature on Showtime, would be happy to know that the shows have been renewed for another season. All the three shows are jaw-droppingly outrageous at times, with nudity and foul language a common feature in all the three. But, its these very features that set these shows apart and honestly it’s refreshing for a change to watch something on TV that is low on inhibitions and something that doesn’t bother being politically correct.

These shows are also probably so very popular because all the three have exceptional male protagonists, House of Lies has Don Cheadle, Californication has David Duchovny and Shameless has William. H. Macy. Hardly anyone can deny that these three guys are legends of acting in their own right. Showtime on its part explained its decision to renew these shows by saying that comedies see a rise in viewership on a yearly basis. In other words, with each passing season of a comedy show, its viewership increases.

For those who are unaware but are interested in increasing the viewership of these shows, should know that Californication is a show about a writer ‘House of Lies’ ‘Californication’ ‘Shameless’ Renewedwho tries to juggle his career, his daughter, his ex-wife and the hordes of other women he is attracted to on the way. Interestingly, David Duchovny didn’t want to do anymore television after the X-files, but luckily for his fans he later changed his mind.

House of Lies on the other hand is a show about a hugely successful management consultant, who wouldn’t mind resorting to any means to satisfy his clients. He has a dedicated team that assists him in his endeavors. It augers mention that Don Cheadle won a Golden Globe this year for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, for this show, so you can imagine how good he must be on it. Last but certainly not the least; Shameless is about an alcoholic man, who lives with his six children who try to do their best to cope with his ways. Interestingly, Woody Harrelson was originally set to star, back when the show was to air on NBC, then HBO, and then Showtime, before dropping out after the success of Zombieland. Well, everything happens for the best, as they say.
