Haley’s New Boyfriend Is Rafi From ‘The League’

If you thought Haley’s mother on Modern Family was going to be happy with her latest choice of a boyfriend, you are mistaken. Jason Mantzoukas is slated to be her latest love interest. For the uninitiated, Jason essays the role of Rafi on the television comedy ‘The League’. He was also recently seen in the Sacha Baron Cohen comedy ‘The Dictator’. He shall now bring his craziness and humor to Modern Family.

The interesting part is that, Jason is 40 years old; therefore it would be really interesting to see how he fits into the whole scheme of things, as far as Modern Family is concerned. He shall reportedly play a jeans designer who becomes a co-worker and new boyfriend of Haley (Sarah Hyland). If he is being brought in as a guest star on the show, then it means he wouldn’t be Haley’s boyfriend for long. The two love birds will probably have to part way because of Haley’s mother, but that is something which hasn’t been revealed yet. It is also not clear as to how many episodes of the show Jason will appear in.

For those unaware, Modern Family is a comedy TV series, about three different, but related, families and the trials they face in each of their own uniquely comedic ways. The show has been around since 2009 and is in its fourth season on ABC. In fact, it was the first ABC series to win the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series in 22 years since The Wonder Years. Presented in mockumentary style, the fictional characters frequently talk directly into the camera, which makes the show pretty unique and even funnier than it would have been, if it were made in a regular fashion.

Some have made comparisons to The Office and Parks and Recreation, due to their mockumentary formats, but it has to be hurriedly added that, besides this one similarity the three shows have nothing else in common and are equally funny in their own unique way. In 2012, the show received a total of fourteen Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, and nominations for all six of its adult actors in the Supporting Actor and Actress Comedy categories.
