‘Fashion Star’To Be Hosted By Louise Roe

There is really no reason to complain when one beautiful woman is replaced by another. Something to that effect happened recently when, Elle Macpherson was replaced on Fashion Star by Louise Roe. Louise on her part has an extensive body of work and therefore was possibly an apt candidate to fill Elle’s shoes. She has earlier hosted the makeover series ‘Plain Jane’ on CW; she also has regular fashion segments on ‘Access Hollywood’.

In addition, she also co-hosted the Royal Wedding for E!, co-hosted MTV International’s live red-carpet coverage from the VMAs, Movie Awards and EMA’s, and co-anchored ABC’s Oscars coverage. In the UK, she hosted BBC’s The Clothes Show. Therefore one can’t deny the fact that, the girl has quite a resume, and knows a thing or two about fashion.

In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising if she turns out to be a better host than Elle Macpherson. “As executive producer of Fashion Star I’m really excited by our choice of Louise as host for the second season, I think her presence will energize and surprise,” said series creator Macpherson, who stepped down from her hosting duties following the show’s renewal for a second season. From what Elle has said, it is clear that she wants to concentrate on her role as an executive producer and has therefore passed on the baton of hosting to someone else.

For the uninitiated, the show has big names like Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos as judges. It has to be said that this show, isn’t really known for its ratings, but has performed fairly consistently garnering fairly average ratings. What makes its popular is basically the fact that its advertiser friendly and has spawned a successful fashion line offshoot, which must be making the show and its makers a good amount of money. It would be interesting to see if Louise coming on board shall make any difference to the show, as far as ratings are concerned. One thing that might possibly happen is that, the show might gain popularity even in the UK, as Louise is quite a familiar face out there.
