‘Dirty Jobs’ Gets Canceled!
Mike Rowe is going to have to find something else to do for a bit because the news has come out that ‘Dirty Jobs’, the Discovery Channel show that put Rowe in the middle of everyday dirty jobs. With his brand of comedy, he was able to have the show survive 8 seasons! That is a giant feat! Since its debut back in 2003, went on the Huffington Post Blog to tell everyone about it. He stated:
“Whenever Dirty Jobs goes off the air for a few months, people start to wonder if the show has been canceled. Rumors begin to swirl, and questions about the show’s future fill my inbox. Over the years it’s been my pleasure to assure anxious fans that Dirty Jobs is coming back for another season. And indeed, we always have. Alas, this year, I’m afraid I cannot dispel the rumors,” he explained. “A few weeks ago, I was officially informed that Dirty Jobs had entered into a new phase. One I like to call, ‘permanent hiatus.’ Or in the more popular industry vernacular, canceled.”
It is never fun when you see a show that entertains have to fall and get canceled like this one did. However, no doubt that Rowe will bounce back from this and come out with another successful show. Like many shows though, it seems that in the recent seasons, the show couldn’t hold up with the other shows airing today. However, don’t get discouraged. Rowe is still narrating ‘Deadliest Catch’ and he has said himself that he has “other things in the works”. Let’s hope that it will keep us entertained as much as ‘Dirty Jobs’ did.

As many may know this is the second show that Discovery Channel has canceled recently. ‘American Chopper’ was on the list of cancellations as well. The show that took a family of motorcycle mechanics and put cameras in their faces got the ax last week and many fans are still in shock. However, with the steady ratings lacking, it had to go. Who knows what Discovery Channel has up their sleeves this coming winter, but it is sure to keep us entertained. It may be sad that ‘Dirty Jobs’ has ended, but there is always going to be re-runs!
