Surely, it’s quite a big deal for CBS to rope in someone like her as a news contributor, as she will not only bring in her immense experience but also her name which holds a lot of water.

She recently appeared as a panelist on Face the Nation and on it Bob Schieffer the host, revealed about Rice’s collaboration with CBS. “Everybody knows that Condoleezza Rice was President Bush’s Secretary of State, but I’m very pleased to announce that she has a new job as of today,” Schieffer said. “She is joining CBS News as a contributor; we’re honored to have you making your first appearance on CBS here on Face the Nation”. CBS on its part also issued a formal statement confirming Rice’s new assignment with the network.  ”The former Secretary of State will use her insight and vast experience to explore issues facing America at home and abroad” the statement said. No doubt, Rice’s involvement as a news contributor would add a lot of weight to the channel’s news coverage.
