Christie Brinkley to Guest star On ‘Parks And Recreation’

Submitted by on October 11, 2012 – 12:00 pm Comments

‘Parks and Recreation’ is a really popular show with millions of fans, but for the uninitiated it needs to be mentioned that, the show is about the absurd antics of an Indiana town’s public officials as they pursue sundry projects to make their city a better place. Those who watch the show are well acquainted with the character of Jerry on the show. Jerry is basically the show’s resident punching bag.

It also has to be added that, Jerry isn’t much of a looker, and his body shape isn’t something that would be called great. But, everyone, including the entire office, was surprised when it turned out he had such a hot daughter. On the show she broke Chris Trager’s heart rather quickly. But one question still remained unanswered…where did she come from? As mentioned before, going by Jerry’s looks, it can be safely assumed that his daughter really didn’t inherit his genes; therefore it can safely be assumed that Jerry’s wife must be a real knockout.

Well if there was any doubt about this fact, the makers of the show cleared it up, by deciding to bring in Christie Brinkley the one time wife of Billy Joel, as Jerry’s wife on the show. Christie as we all know is one beautiful lady, and is therefore an apt choice for the role of a knockout wife. It also augers mention that, Brinkley is 58-years old, but is still a head turner. The show on its part has received several awards and nominations, including an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series and three Emmy nominations for Poehler’s performance.

The show was conceived by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, and although it initially drew comparisons with the popular comedy show ‘The Office’ due to the similarities in the way both were shot, it gradually managed to create its own niche. On May 11, 2012 Parks & Recreation was picked up for a full 22-episode fifth season, whereas shows like Community and 30 Rock were only picked up for 13-epsiode seasons, which should give you some idea of the amount of faith the network has on this show.
