Bad Teacher pilot CBSSeems like Bad Teacher the 2011 Cameron Diaz film, really made an impact as far as its concept is concerned, which is why CBS has ordered a pilot from Sony which will be based on the same concept as the film. For those unaware, Bad Teacher is a film about a foul-mouthed, junior high teacher who, after being dumped by her sugar daddy, begins to woo a colleague — a move that pits her against a well-loved teacher.

The movie can’t really be called great and was one of those run-of-the-mill comedies that one forgets right after coming out of the movie hall. But, audiences world over, apparently loved the film and it made over $200 million worldwide. The movie’s box-office performance was stupendous considering it was made for around $20 million. It is probably the movie’s worldwide popularity which prompted a show based on it and it also probably for this very reason that CBS has ordered a pilot, as it feels the concept has potential. The show it turns out will be written by Gene Stupnitsky and Les Eisenberg, who penned the film.

It would be interesting to see as to who is cast in the role Cameron Diaz essayed in the film. Also, stretching the conceptBad Teacher CBS of one film like Bad Teacher into a TV series with multiple episodes would need quite some creativity. If the pilot even comes close to receiving the kind of reception the movie did, CBS would be sure to order a full season of it. But, for that it’s also important the right kind, of actors are chosen.

As far as Bad teacher the film is concerned this is what one of the critics had written about the film: “In spite of a promising concept and a charmingly brazen performance from Cameron Diaz, Bad Teacher is never as funny as it should be”, which should give you an idea of the fact that it was mainly the concept and Diaz’s performance that were liked. Also, the movie is quite raunchy and in your face, so the show will have to keep up that flavor. Anyway the flavor of the season, are comedy shows that are in your face like House Of Lies, Californication and Girls. But, it also has to be added that all these shows that have been mentioned have great actors that hold these shows together; Bad Teacher the show would have to replicate that.
