Arrested development NewFans have been eagerly waiting for news of when Arrested Development, will premier. Well, it has at last been revealed that the show, will premier in May. Netflix also revealed that the show has been ordered for 14 episodes instead of the previously planned 10 episodes. It has also been confirmed that the original cast of the show shall all be reprising their respective roles, which is really good news as the show would have been incomplete, without even one of them. In addition, guest stars like Liza Minnelli (reprising her role of Lucille Austero), Conan O’Brien, John Slattery (Mad Men), Chris Diamantopoulos (24), Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers) and Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris), shall also be a part of the show.

The creator of the show Mitch Hurwitz, while promoting the show at Television Critics Association was recently asked if he ever thought he would be back promoting the show at its press tour and replied “I just always kind of held out hope that this would all work out… We shouldn’t be here. I accept that premise.” Hurwitz though, revealed no details at all as far as the plotline of the new episodes are concerned. He only gave a hint of what to expect when he said “The only way we could get everyone together for what we’ll call, loosely, an anthology series, was to dedicate each episode to a different character’s point of view”. “That became a fun, entertaining challenge, because we started finding out that the stories would intersect…. So, you’ll see a scene in one [episode], and then you’ll see a scene again from the other perspective [in another episode] where you’ll get all this new information” Hurwitz further added.

One does not work without the other.”

Also, all the 14 episodes of the show will be released at once. On this issue Hurwitz was quoted as saying “There is an order that we have put them together to create the maximum number of surprises. If you watch it in the order that we prescribe, you’ll get to, say, Episode 4 and realize that’s why [a character] did that in Episode 1”. Each episode of the show is slated to be of about, 30 minutes duration. Interestingly, Michael Cera besides reprising his role as George Michael on the show has also been inducted into the writing team. “Michael is such a brilliant guy and such a great writer,” Hurwitz was quoted as saying.
