Nurse Commits Suicide After Prank Call to Kate Middleton’s Hospital Room

For those following the Kate Baby Watch, you already know of the prank call that was made to Kate Middleton’s hospital room and how the nurse gave away information regarding Kate’s health at the time to two Australian DJs, Mel and Michael. The two posed as The Queen and Charles to see how Kate was feeling on Wednesday. After the prank call became news, the nurse, Jacintha Saldanha, committed suicide.

The nurse’s body was found and suicide was the cause so reports TMZ. She was found in an address near the hospital and the paramedics couldn’t revive her. The police have reported that no further investigation is going to continue for the woman because it is clear that suicide was the factor of the woman’s death and that there was no foul play. The royal family have since released a statement.

In the statement they say “Kate and William’s rep has issued a statement on behalf of the royals saying they are “deeply saddened” by the news … adding, “Their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha’s family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.” It is always sad news when someone dies from a stupid joke that apparently had an effect.

Since the suicide, the radio hosts that pulled off the prank, Michael and Mel have gone silent. Despite the apology that Michael released on Twitter saying, “Just on our royal prank call… we were very surprised that our call was put through, we thought we’d be hung up on as soon as they heard our terrible accents. We’re very sorry if we’ve caused any issues and we’re glad to hear that Kate is doing well.” And later Mel tweeting, “”We thought we’d be hung up on as soon as they heard our terrible accents, we’re very sorry if we’ve caused any issues for Kate or the nurse.”

Both are shocked of the news apparently because they are under serious fire from it and the station has told media outlets that the two are NOT talking to anyone. Pretty harsh, but someone has to take the fall. They have since “suspended themselves” according to TMZ. Sad news. Note to self: Never impersonate the Queen of England. What do you think of this?
