Fiona Apple Rants About Police Department, Police Rant Back

Fiona Apple singing at concert

What the heck is wrong with Fiona Apple? The 1990′s star is calling out her arresting officers from her drug bust last week by saying that they did something illegal while she was detained. Fiona was arrested in Hudspeth County in Texas last week when police officers found marijuana on her tour bus and the star admitted that the drugs were hers.

Over the weekend, during a concert in Houston, the singer said on stage that the officers had done something illegal while she was being detained. She complained about the four officers saying that she heard everything they did. She said that she wrote down all of their names, along with what they had said, “Stupidlly thinking that I couldn’t hear or see you.” She then stated that she ripped up the paper she had written on, but she encoded it first and only she knows the key. “And you and I will be intimate forever because I will hold that secret forever.” Although, she did also add that if they were interested in becoming celebrities, she would be happy to make them famous.

Now the Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Department Spokesman has released a letter. He actually wrote two in response to Apple’s allegations. The first one was an official statement that defended the police department and encouraged Apple to file an official complaint if she honestly suspected any wrongdoings in her arrest and detainment.

The second response was much more personal in nature. Fleming wrote that he is already more famous that Apple and does not need her help, although it seems that she needs his. “Two weeks ago nobody in the country cared about what you had to say. Now that you’ve been arrested it appears your entire career has been jump-started. Don’t worry Sweetie, I won’t bill you.” He ended the letter with “Just shut up and sing.”

Wow! That spokesman has some balls. Now, the Texas native Solange Knowles has added her two cents to the drama by tweeting “Only in Texas would a Sheriff write an open letter to an artist and send it to press starting w the words, ‘First, Honey.’ On behalf of my state, #SorryFiona. Just goes to show so clearly these cops luv ego-tripp’n.”

Fleming responded that he was not trying to get into a pissing contest with anyone. He said that his statement stands for itself and that he’s not a cop and had nothing to do with Fiona’s arrest. If that’s the case, then why in the world did he write that personal letter in the first place. If he had nothing to do with it, then why bother adding to the drama. Sounds a bit to me like all those involved are just a bit hungry for their own 15 minutes.
