Work On Before Midnight Has Begun Ethan Hawke Confirms

Those of you who liked Before Sunrise and Before Sunset and would love to see the pair of Julie Delphy and Ethan Hawke on the silver screen, once again, are in for some good news. It was recently confirmed by Hawke that, work has begun on another sequel of this popular rom com franchise. The time of the day chosen this time round, is the midnight.

Basically, the whole premise behind this franchise is quite intriguing. The first installment of this movie saw the characters of Hawke and Delphy who were complete strangers; spend a whole day with each other in the picturesque city of Vienna.

The movie is completely dedicated to the time they spend together and how over a period of 24 hrs, grow visibly fond of each other. Eventually, at the end of those 24 hrs though, they part ways. The chemistry between the two was such that, the movie became a cult and was watched by romantics, world over. Then, as it happens with Hollywood, any good movie that makes even a slight amount of money has to be milked further, hence the trend of making a sequel.

Richard Linklater was no different, and he decided that the romantics deserved to see the two, once again on the screen. Before Sunset, was therefore made. This time the two met in what the movies have fashioned as a romantic’s paradise, in other words Paris. It is rumored that the latest installment would be shot in another breathtakingly beautiful city, somewhere in Greece. This has to yet be confirmed though.

The speculations were basically fuelled when Delphy and Hawke were spotted together in Greece. In addition to that, Hawke revealed “We’re here writing a third installment to Before Sunrise. If it works out, we’ll film it, and if it doesn’t, we won’t. It’s not really worth talking about. I’m just here developing”.

Surely every fan out there must be waiting with bated breath, hoping that one of these days they receive a confirmation that, Hawke and team are done with the development and are going ahead with the production.
