Isla Fisher might be roped in to play the younger version of Bridget Fonda’s character in the prequel of ‘Jackie Brown’ called ‘Switch’. The film also has Jennifer Aniston as a kidnap victim and Modern Family’s Ty Burrell as a witness. For the uninitiated, Jackie Brown is a 1997 crime drama film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It is an adaptation of American novelist Elmore Leonard’s novel Rum Punch and pays homage to 1970s blaxploitation films, particularly 1974′s Foxy Brown.

The film stars Pam Grier (who also played Foxy Brown in the film of the same name), Robert Forster, Robert De Niro, Samuel L. Jackson, Bridget Fonda and Michael Keaton. The film garnered Forster an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, and Jackson and Grier were nominated for Golden Globe Awards. The film helped revive the careers of Grier and Forster, who received critical acclaim for their performances, as did Samuel L. Jackson.

The movie revolves around a 44 year old flight attendant Jackie Brown who gets caught with gun dealer Ordell Robbie’s money and to get the ATF off her back she sets up Ordell with her new friend, a bail bondsman named Max Cherry. But what the ATF doesn’t know, is that they are part of her wild plan to get Ordell’s half million dollars and get off scott free. However, she has to do it under the noses of both Ordell, the ATF man and a local cop. What she doesn’t know is Ordell’s blonde beach bunny wants the money for herself as does Ordell’s ex-con friend.

Interestingly, Sylvester Stallone originally wanted to play Louis, while John Travolta was the first choice to play Ray Nicollete. When Robert De Niro first got a hold of the script he wanted to play the role of Max Cherry. Quentin Tarantino wanted to work with De Niro but had his heart set on Robert Forster as Cherry, so he gave the role of Louis to De Niro. In the novel, Jackie Brown (originally Jackie Burke) is white. Quentin Tarantino changed her race solely for the purpose of getting to work with Pam Grier.
