‘Ironman 3′ To Focus On Starks’ Inner Demons

Submitted by on August 2, 2012 – 9:32 pm Comments

With Ironman 3 coming out in March of 2013 there are ultimately some questions, such as how the movie is going to play out under a new director, who is the villain, and will it be as good as the first two movies. As some know Jon Favreau handed the reins of the multi-million dollar trilogy (that also crosses with the Avengers Movies) over to Shane Black.

Some fans are probably going “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” right now, because Blacks last movie was done in 1996, but do not despair Marvel fans, Favreau is still in the movie as Starks driver, Happy Hogan. Maybe Favreau will have a larger role in this movie and that was why there was a need to call in a new director. Right now we can all just hope the film is done justice.

The villain for this film is The Mandarin. A little bit of back ground information for those that do not follow the comics, Mandarin’s parents died shortly following his birth, so he was raised by his Aunt who tirelessly trained him in combat and science. However because his Aunt squandered away all of his money he was thrown out of China because he could not pay his taxes. When he explores the “Valley of Spirits” he finds his infamous 10 rings the skeleton on the ship of Axonn-Karr, an intelligent dragon like alien from the planet Maklu IV.  Mandarin then figures out how to properly use them which in turn opens ups up his megalomaniac mentality.

Robert Downy Jr. has confirmed that Ironman 3 will deal with a lot of Starks inner demons in this film, more so than the first two movies, which downing jr smilingonly lightly grazed Starks heavily armored surface, due to events in the first Avengers movies. Downy is set to do at least one large stunt scene in this movie on his own as well, and when asked at Comic-Con 2012 is he planned to give Tom Cruise a run for his money (Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol) Downy stated “Well I don’t know. I just said while I’m physically able I’d like to leave it all on the field and I’d like there to be ten moments where people wonder how I was stupid enough to actually do that stunt. Most of all me.”

So what you can expect going to see Ironman 3 is the development of not only Stark but characters that will follow him into the Avengers 2 come the summer time.
