The legendary monster movie Godzilla is getting made again, and you shall get to witness it May 16 2014. Godzilla as a concept has caught the fancy of everyone in the world, right from the Japanese to the Americans. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before this concept too was milked once again, as it has the potential for generating millions of dollars in payday. In fact, the first look of the new movie was revealed at the recent Comic-Con. From the first-look of the film it seems as if, the movie is set to make its billion dollars and possibly even more.

For the record, it is worth mentioning that there have been more than 25 movies that have been made on Godzilla, besides books, toys, videogames and TV shows that have been dedicated to this extremely popular monster lizard. Gareth Edwards, the writer-director-cinematographer-VFX man behind 2010′s “Monsters,” will direct from a script by David Callaham, David S. Goyer and Max Borenstein.

Also, as you must have already guessed, it will be in 3-D. Watching this monster in 3D might actually, send many scurrying for cover in fear. “Return the character to its epic roots with a gritty, realistic actioner” is what the makers are going for. Gareth reveals this along with the fact that the movie shall be as realistic as possible. Gareth even makes a claim that when the viewers come to watch the movie; to them it would seem as if, the things that are being shown onscreen are real.

In Hollywood, a movie revolving around Godzilla was last made way back in 1998. The movie had the likes of Matthew Broderick and Jean Reno. The movie for its time had some of the best special-effects, but lacked a soul when it came to the storyline. Therefore one can only hope that, the new Godzilla movie doesn’t take a cue from its predecessor but instead, concentrates on the plot as much, as the special effects. It has been revealed that the movie shall be based on the 1954 version of Godzilla.
