Fantastic Four Reboot In the Offing

Fantastic Four NewSome would call it creative bankruptcy, but there is no denying the fact that superhero movie reboots are the flavor of the season. There was the Batman reboot, the Spiderman reboot, the Hulk reboot, soon there will be a Superman movie re-reboot and now it has been revealed that there will soon be a Fantastic Four reboot. At this point it would be difficult to say, if this new reboot is a good idea or not, till we see the finished product, because the previous Fantastic Four movies were pretty good by themselves. The news of the Fantastic Four reboot was revealed by Mark Miller who is Fox’s creative consultant.

He revealed how he met up with Josh Trank a couple of times to discuss the direction in which he would be taking the franchise. Miller was basically quoted as saying “From what I’ve seen and from talking to him – he and I have had dinner a couple of times and we talk quite regularly as well – he’s contemporizing it. I think he’s just making it work for the screen – he’s a great storyteller”. It seems Miller and the studio are simply looking for an excuse to make a Fantastic Four reboot as they know that it’s a popular franchise and after seeing how successful superhero reboots can be; they want to cash in on it. Also, it’s easier to make a reboot than continue a particular story, as all you have to do is retell the same story that has already been told, albeit with a few tweaks here and there.

Miller is hoping that Trank can make this reboot, “awesome”, by adding his own unique touch to it. “What I wasn’t expecting New Fantastic Fouractually was just how funny and likeable he could make this as well as getting the more awesome moments on screen. I use awesome in the traditional British sense and not the California sense awesome, you know?” Miller was quoted as saying, while trying to explain what he expects from Trank.

He then went on to reveal as to what the audiences can expect from the reboot. “The Ridley Scott moments, and the Fantastic Four really are jaw-dropping in the same way you feel when you saw Alien for the first time, there’s some moments in this – not to be specific – that are actually gonna be phenomenal on screen and stuff you haven’t seen in a superhero movie before” Miller was quoted as saying, while trying to explain what the new movie has in store for its viewers. Fantastic Four is slated for release in the US on 6 March 2015.
