Evil Dead Reboot: Bruce Campbell Reveals Details

Submitted by on October 23, 2012 – 1:45 pm Comments

Recently Bruce Campbell revealed details about the forthcoming Evil dead Reboot. Campbell stressed that the reboot would be a departure from the screwball comedy of the last two films, and a return to the genuine fear created by the original. “The movie is not funny,” he explains. “The movie is old-fashioned, retro horror. There’s not a snappy line in the whole movie. The first movie wasn’t like that and this is a remake of the first movie. He’s matching the tone of the first movie which is not har-de-har-har”.

This movie shall see Campbell as a producer. About his duties as a producer he was quoted as saying “We got our little fingers in this pie, man. We want to custom-make it for fans. We’re not some random cigar-chomping producers looking for a horror movie to remake. This is our baby”. Well Campbell does have an emotional connection with the film no doubt, and shall surely treat it with kid gloves. After all, he received the most amount of fame for the roles he played in the Evil Dead franchise. Therefore he through this movie would probably want to give back something to the fans of the original.

Campbell is also convinced that the audiences would actually find the reboot scary, which is its aim.  “It’s going to be a horror extravaganza. Not in terms of size, but in terms of the intensity of the horror you will experience. This movie is going to blow the fricking doors off. It’s just five new actors and a nasty book they should have left alone” he was quoted as saying.

For the uninitiated, the story of ‘Evil Dead’ revolves around a young woman named Mia, who has her share of struggles with sobriety. She heads to a remote cabin with her brother and a group of friends, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads to danger and horror. Jane Levy shall be seen in the role of Mia. Jane has earlier appeared on the TV show ‘Suburgatory’, in which she has played the role of Tessa Altman. The movie shall be directed by Fede Alvarez, and is slated for release in the April of 2013.
