Dumb And Dumber Sequel Has A Name

All those who liked Dumb and Dumber, are surely waiting for its sequel. It would be really interesting to see Jim Carrey back in his element, and refreshing to see Jeff Daniels do comedy after a long long time. Luckily for fans both have agreed to return for the sequel, because if either or both were replaced, the sequel simply wouldn’t have worked. In fact, the Farrelly brothers, the creators of Dumb and Dumber recently Tweeted “You also might be interested to know that we are almost done with the Dumb And Dumber To (sic) script,” “I think you’re going to like it.”

In the process they basically revealed the title of the sequel, which frankly makes more sense than ‘Dumb and Dumberer’, a title that was heavily being speculated, the sequel would have. It has to be said; ‘Dumb And Dumber To’ is also a title that can be a little confusing, but the play on words is certainly better as it uses a pun to convey the fact that it’s a sequel. Also, it’s a title that isn’t too much in your face and isn’t trying too hard to be funny. It would be interesting to see if the movie follows the same vein as the title, and is a bit more wit-heavy than it is slapstick-heavy.

It’s fully possible that the sequel might have a slightly different flavor, as it will apparently be set some 20 years after the events of the original, with one of the inept duo searching for a child they never knew existed. It would be interesting to observe, as to how much of a change in the characters of both Carrey and Daniels, is shown in the sequel.

It has to be conceded that, the Farrelly brothers haven’t really sobered over the years, as far as their brand of movie making is concerned; this can safely be claimed based on the recent movies they have made, like Hall Pass and The Three Stooges. Therefore, don’t expect the characters played by Carrey and Daniels to have become any wiser, just because 20 years have passed.
