Comedic Rock Biopic ‘Frank’ To Star Michael Fassbender & Domhnall Gleeson

Michael Fassbender is one talented chap, he off late has frequently proven that. It’s the chameleon like quality that he has, as a result of which he has seen a rise in his popularity graph. He can as convincingly play ‘Magneto’, as he can an android, devoid of emotions and only driven by logic. It is also possibly for this very reason that, moviemakers choose to cast him in varied roles. Another example of this is his inclusion in the movie ‘Frank’, to be directed by Irish filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson.

It’s a comedy, a genre which he hasn’t really tried his hand at, as yet. There have obviously been movies where his characters have had a streak of humor or satire, but acting in a movie that is specifically a comedy, would be a totally new territory for Michael. He most probably would do a really great job of it and prove to his fans that, he is as good in comedy, as he is in every other genre.

Domhnall Gleeson though, has yet to build a reputation. He has been seen in a few big movies, but not in breakthrough roles. He shall also been seen in the soon to be released ‘Dredd’. The plot of ‘Frank’ revolves around Gleeson, who plays “an aspiring musician who finds himself in over his head when he joins an eccentric rock band led by Fassbender”.

Hence, this movie might be just the kind of breakthrough that Gleeson needs, in order to make his mark and for everyone to get up and take notice. Gleeson shall in 2013, be seen in the movie ‘About Time’ directed by Richard Curtis. The movie is a science fiction drama, with elements of comedy in it. On the other hand, Michael shall in 2014 be once again seen playing Magneto in the new X-Men movie. Before that in 2013 he shall be seen in the movie ‘The Counselor’ alongside Brad Pitt. Not much has been revealed about ‘Frank’ as yet, but with the kind of people involved in this project, it sure promises to be a really interesting one.
