‘Solace’, the supernatural thriller for which Anthony Hopkins has already been chosen, shall also star Colin Farrell. Farrell’s participation in the film was recently confirmed. The story of the film is about a doctor whose aid the FBI takes in nabbing a serial killer. Anthony Hopkins was cast as the doctor with supernatural abilities, right from the beginning and now Colin Farrell has been roped in to play an FBI agent, who shall be working in tandem with the doctor. It would be really interesting to see these two really great actors working together.

Besides, if you remember this isn’t the first time that Anthony Hopkins would be playing a doctor who helps nab a serial killer, he had done the same even in Silence of the Lambs. Only, instead of Colin Farrell the cop’s role was played by Jodie Foster. Of course, his character did not have any supernatural abilities in Silence of the Lambs, but the basic premise one would say is the same. Afonso Poyart shall be directing the film. The shooting for the film is slated to begin in May. The screenplay of the film is written by Sean Bailey.

Just in case you were wondering, Hopkins in this film shall play a psychic, and with an actor like him playing this kind of a role, you can be sure he will make it look really convincing. In fact, most would agree that Hopkins can play a part like this in his sleep. It would be interesting to also see, as to who plays the serial killer; that is if the killer has been given significant screen time in the film. The movie is a collaborative effort of New Line Cinema, Eden Rock Media and Contrafilm. Warner Bros. Pictures on the other hand has secured the distribution rights for the film.

Poyart the director of the film is relatively new to Hollywood and hence the audiences might get to see a completely new style of direction and might even end up liking it. For those unaware, Poyart is a Brazilian director who has earlier made the popular action film Two Rabbits (2 Coelhos) in Brazilian. It was probably the immense potential that the studios saw in Poyart, which resulted in him being roped in to direct Solace. If this movie works, it surely will open many a door for Poyart in Hollywood.
