Christian Bale Too Might Be Roped In For ‘Transcendence’

Submitted by on October 26, 2012 – 1:41 pm Comments

We had recently reported that, Wally Pifster was doing his best to get Johnny Depp on board, for him directorial debut ‘Transcendence’. It is now being reported that, he is also pursuing Christian Bale for another role in the film. Seems like, Pfister is hell-bent on casting as many heavyweights as he possibly can for his debut. Christian Bale and Pfister know each other well as they have worked on four projects together namely ‘The Prestige’ and the three Batman films that Bale starred in. basically, Pfister was a cinematographer in all the four films.

This four film association would surely hold Pfister in good stead while attempting to convince Bale. In fact, there are reportedly three lead roles in the film. Although, it needs to be hurriedly added that, nothing has officially been mentioned or declared about Bale even remotely agreeing to be a part of the project. Only time will tell whether Pfister manages a casting coup of sorts by roping in both Depp and Bale for his film. Also, it would be interesting to see as to who he approaches for the third lead in the film. It is also being reported that the film begin shooting in winter of this year, which isn’t too far away.

Therefore you might not have to wait too long before an official announcement comes forth about the cast that is finally short-listed for this film. Rumor has it; Pfister has also approached actors like Noomi Rapace, James McAvoy, Tobey Maguire and Christoph Waltz to be a part of this film. The only name that is conspicuous by its absence is Christopher Nolan favorite, Joseph Gordon Levitt. Pfister on his part is keeping things under wraps for now, and plans to hide things behind a shroud of secrecy at least until things are officially finalized.

As far as Christian Bale is concerned, he is a really busy man and very much in demand. In 2013 he shall be seen in the film ‘Out Of Furnace’ which is a thriller. Then again in 2013 he shall be seen in the romantic drama ‘Knight Of Cups’. He then has a few unnamed projects in the pipeline. One can only hope he can make time for Pfister’s film.
