Kristen Dunst on the Bachelorette setThough the film “Bachelorette” premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival, it just had its Los Angeles premiere last night at the ArcLight. Kirsten Dunst stated the film is so raunchy, she banned her own father from seeing it. She told him he is a prude and would hate it. Why is that you ask? Because Dunst has a quickie sex scene in the film with the “X-Men” hunk, James Marsden. This very vocal quickie also took place in a strip club bathroom.

Turns out, the night before the wedding is filled with tons of sex, drugs, and booze. Kirsten Dunst plays Regan, who along with her two other friends, Gena, played by Lizzy Caplan, and Katie, played by Isla Fisher, are asked to be bridesmaids in a friend’s wedding. Only this friend just happens to be Becky, played by Rebel Wilson, whom they used to make fun of in high school, even going so far as to call her Pig Face.

Now, the friends all try to leave the past behind them as they attempt to throw Becky an awesome bachelorette party. The night gets all crazy

when Gena begins to party hard well before it’s time and Katie seems have her head in the clouds all night. Later in the night, once the booze is flowing, an accident with the wedding gown sends the weekend spiraling out of control. It all leads to one crazy night that no one involved will ever forget.

It seems to me that this film is really just a mash up of “The Hangover” and “Bridesmaids.” Dunst spoke about her particular sex scene and said “You just roll with it.” She said you can only hope that you’re working with someone who is laid back and can just go for it.

Both Dunst and Marsden are playing roles that are not what their fans are quite used to. Though Dunst hasn’t played in many comedies here recently, she reminded her fans that she did most of her teen roles in comedies. And Marsden, who usually plays such a good guy, was actually quite excited to play the not so likeable character in the film.

The film was written and directed by Leslye Headland, and produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. It was shot in New York City and will be released in theaters on September 7th. However, for those who can’t wait until then you can already order it on VOD and iTunes.
