‘Assassin’s Creed’ Shall Star Michael Fassbender

For the uninitiated, Assassin’s Creed is a popular videogame. Now it has been decided that Ubisoft and New Regency shall join hands to make a film based on this videogame. “Bringing aboard New Regency’s renowned production and distribution expertise while maintaining our own creative and financial flexibility ensures that Assassin’s Creed will be a high-quality film that respects the lore and fans of the video game franchise,” Jean-Julien Baronnet, Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO, said in a statement.

Also, enlisted to star in the project is the much in demand Michael Fassbender. The videogame series basically, features a man traveling back in time to operate in the shadows of various historical events. The series has sold 38 million copies of four games total, since launching in 2007. Just like with the game the movie shall probably have sequels. Fassbender on his part has a slew of projects in the pipeline, some of which are about to be released and others which have begun production.

To begin with, in 2013 you shall see Fassbender in a movie called ‘Twelve Years A Slave’ which is a historical drama about a man living in New York during the mid-1800s, who is kidnapped and sold into slavery in the deep south. Giving Fassbender, company would be the likes of Brad Pitt, Paul Giamatti and Benedict Cumberbatch, besides others. In 2013 again he shall be see starring in another film called ‘The Counselor’ which is a thriller about a lawyer who, finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking. In this movie too he shall have Brad Pitt giving him company, besides Javier Bardem and others.

Then once again in 2013, he shall star in a movie called ‘Frank’ which is a comedy about a young wannabe musician, Jon, who discovers he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank. Giving him company in this film would be Domhnall Gleeson. Then in 2014 he shall once again be seen essaying the role of Magneto in, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Also in the pipeline is the Prometheus sequel, although it doesn’t have a release date yet.
