Zachary Quinto and Jonathan GroffZachary Quinto’s heart has been claimed, and mine has been broken. The “Heroes” star has confirmed that he is now in a relationship with “Glee” star Jonathan Groff. Groff plays Jesse St. James. Quinto said he feels “incredibly happy” and “incredibly lucky.” Yes I’m happy for him, and know that he’d never be into me, but again, just a twinge of jealousy going on here!

The couple had been spotted around together numerous times, but the relationship had yet to be confirmed until Quinto had a recent interview with the magazine “Out.” The 35 year old actor said that relationships are usually hard for him and that it’s not been easy to find the kind of companionship he’s found in Groff, who is 27 years old. Quinto said that he is generally attracted “to people who were somehow unavailable.” Me too! See Zach, we already have so much in common!

Quinto actually went to therapy for some help with the situation. He said that there was a lot of work he had to do on the couch so that he could finally get to the point where he could find a relationship with someone else who was capable of being in one also. He said it took a lot of trial and error and that he’s still working on this stuff. He says that the work will never stop.

Quinto actually came out last October. The actor is most known for his role as Sylar on “Heroes” and for playing Spock in the new “Star Trek” film. Quinto didn’t try to make a big spectacle out of his coming out, he just mentioned it in an interview with New York magazine. Quinto was in the middle of discussing his work in “Angels in America” which is a Broadway play about the AIDS epidemic, when he said “As a gay man, it made me feel like I-there’s still so much work to be done. There’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed. The undercurrent of that fear and that, you know, insidiousness still is swarming. It’s still all around us.”Zachary Quinto and Jonathan Groff

Quinto went on to talk about politics a bit and the legalization of gay marriage. He also spoke on the suicide of Jamey Rodemeyer, a gay teenager who was bullied into taking his life. Quinto spoke about the suicide and stated that as a gay man, there is a hopelessness that surrounds those situations.

Shortly after Quinto came out in the magazine article, he posted on his website “In light of Jamey’s death-it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it-is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality.”
