Sylvester Stallone Is Opening Up About Loss Of Son

Sylvester Stallone at Expendables 2 premiereA month after the death of his son, Sylvester Stallone is finally opening up about the loss. The star appeared with his “Expendables” co-stars Tuesday morning on “Good Morning America.” He answered the questions surrounding his son’s death by saying that it’s very tough, but that he has good friends and family around for support. He called his struggle a reality of life.

Stallone definitely seemed sad, but was able to speak very matter-of-fact. He spoke of the importance of living your life, and avoiding the spiral you can get into.

Sage Stallone was 36 years old when he was found last month on July 13th by his housekeeper in his Los Angeles home after a suspected drug overdose. TMZ reported that giant empty bottles of prescription painkillers were found near Sage’s body. Sage was engaged to be married and had been working on numerous films at the time of his death. There has yet to be any official word on the cause of Sage’s death. Foul play was not suspected. While authorities recovered some prescription drugs in the investigation, it’s still unclear whether or not they played any role in his death. Sage was the eldest of Stallone’s five children and one of two he had with his first wife, Sasha Czack.

Stallone is definitely throwing himself back into this job which included the “Expendables 2.” The first movie, which Stallone wrote and directed, made $274 million in the box office. Stallone and his wife, Jennifer Flavin, and three daughters attended the UK premiere of the film in London. The talk on “Good Morning America” quickly went from the tragedy to all the male bonding that took place on the set of “Expendables 2.” Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke of his return to action movies after he had taken eight years off as the governor of California. The 65 year old movie star has also been a tabloid scandal over the past year with a divorce and the announcement that Schwarzenegger is the father of his housekeeper’s son.

“Expendables 2″ hits theaters this Friday, and Stallone is not opposed to making a third movie as well. He says of his co stars, “When that combination works it’s so rare and you just don’t want to let it go.”
