Rihanna: Chris Brown And I Aren’t Together
After months of speculation as to whether Rihanna and Chris Brown have gotten back together, Rihanna recently confirmed that they haven’t. Rihanna basically answered the “Are they or aren’t they?” question to Bravo’s Andy Cohen during a Facebook Live interview on Wednesday, where she stated for the record that “No,” they are “not together”. Many would find it difficult to believe this confession of hers, as they would argue there is plenty of evidence to the contrary.
Rihanna on her part admitted, now that Chris is single, she really can’t shut out the possibility of her and Chris getting back together. “This is mine at this point, and when it gets to my music, I’ll give and I’ll give, and I just feel like I need to keep a little bit for me that I get to decide,” she was quoted as saying. “If I had it my way, it would be really nobody’s business” she added. So basically, she wants the world to stop speculating and discussing about her relationship status, and instead wants everyone to only follow her music career. Seems like that isn’t going to happen anytime soon, and surely not now when the two have publicly made up and have been seen in each other’s company quite frequently.

For the uninitiated on February 8, 2009, Rihanna’s scheduled performance at the 51st Grammy Awards was cancelled. Reports later surfaced regarding an altercation with her then-boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, who was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats. On March 5, 2009, Brown was charged with assault and making criminal threats. A leaked photograph from the Los Angeles Police Department obtained by TMZ, revealed that Rihanna had sustained visible injuries. On June 22, 2009, Brown pled guilty to the felony assault.
In exchange for his plea Brown received five years probation and was ordered to stay fifty yards away from Rihanna, unless at public events, which then would be reduced to ten yards. However, in February 2011, at the request of Brown’s lawyer, Judge Patricia Schnegg modified with Rihanna’s consent the restraining order to a “level one order,” allowing both singers to appear at awards shows together in the future.
