Quincy Jones Testified In Case Regarding Joe Francis and Steve Wynn

Quincy JonesQuincy Jones finished testifying. He stated that he did not see an email from the casino mogul Steve Wynn that threatened to kill the “Girls Gone Wild” brains, Joe Francis. Francis has insisted that he was the target of a murder plot by Wynn.

The story broke towards the end of August. Quincy Jones, who is thought to be one of the most important people in the history of music and TV, was being brought right into the middle of a murder plot that involved two very rich tycoons. Quincy was subpoenaed to testify.

Francis is claiming that Wynn threatened to have him murdered and buried in the desert over a debt that Francis owed at Wynn’s casino. Francis insisted that Quincy had seen the actual email from Wynn that detailed the entire murder plot. However, Wynn is saying these claims are nothing but complete BS and the two got Quincy into court to try and set the record straight, once and for all.

The 79 year old Quincy took the stand and said he had never heard Wynn threaten Francis, nor had he ever seen an email that detailed murder plans. The actual questioning hardly lasted minutes, though it was lighthearted. Wynn’s lawyer tried his hand at some humor when he asked Quincy, “I hear you’re in the music business,” to which Quincy responded “65 years… That’s all.”

Joe Francis now is swearing that Quincy Jones is lying and that Wynn did threaten to end his life. Francis is now accusing Quincy of being in Wynn’s back pocket. Francis said that Quincy lied for Wynn, then swore on his life, saying “God strike me down”, insisting he was 100% telling the truth on the matter. He added that the fat lady hasn’t sung yet, meaning that the whole ordeal was far from over.

Francis also had stated under oath that Jones had told him Wynn was a gangster and “old Vegas.” Jones responded that it sounded like a line from “Scarface,” and dismissed the accusations saying he’d like to see the emails that Francis claimed Quincy showed him. Francis admits that he never read the emails and he didn’t ask Quincy (who just happens to be Francis’ next door neighbor) if he could read them.

Wynn is stating that Francis’ accusations are damaging his reputation and could possibly hurt his business in his Las Vegas casinos and resorts. He also told jurors earlier this week that he had never sent an email in his life.

Quincy was one of the final witnesses in the trial. The other witnesses mostly described the very complicated process that all casino executives must complete. From their testimonies it is easy to see that a casino boss who threatened a patron over a debt would very quickly prompt an investigation. There is a similar process in place that is suppose to help screen the high-roller patrons so that it can ensure that they are able to pay back gambling losses.Francis and Wynn

That process did not work in Francis’ case. Francis has been in financial troubles lately, and has been to jail in Florida and Nevada on tax evasion charges.

Quincy has been a part of both Wynn and Francis’ lives. He has been a friend of Wynn’s for over 35 years and just a few years ago attempted to bail Francis out of a Florida jail.
