Piers Morgan Comments On Alex Jones Gun Rant

Submitted by on January 10, 2013 – 1:00 pm Comments

Piers Mrogan Alex Jones interviewRecently Piers Morgan interviewed Alex Jones who hosts a show on radio and is also a staunch gun advocate. In fact Morgan got into a rather heated debate with Jones, in his show on CNN. Basically Jones had launched a petition to have Morgan removed from the US, as Morgan is staunchly against guns in the country. Morgan later commented about the interview and about Jones. He was quoted as saying “He was bordering on insane. This is a guy who’s not insignificant. Over here he very much represents an extreme section of the American community. This guy has real influence to the more extreme elements who don’t want any form of gun control”.

Well, many even in the US would possibly agree with Morgan, as it’s been made evident by the recent incidents of shootings and killing of innocents in various parts of the US that, stricter gun control laws are the order of the day. Morgan on his part went on to talk about his campaign for stricter gun control laws in the US. “I feel very passionate about this. We remember in Britain the Dunblane massacre. We reacted by banning all handguns and assault weapons. What staggered me is that there have been a series of terrible massacres, and nothing ever gets done” Morgan was quoted as saying.

The recent shootings that have taken place in the US have moved people all across the world and the whole world now has the very same concerns that Morgan does. The biggest problemPierce Morgan vs Alex Jones Morgan has is that, it’s so easy to get access to a gun in the US, which in other words means that people who aren’t mentally stable can also gain access to a gun very easily. “There are 300 million guns in circulation [in the US]. The American constitution empowers Americans to believe that they are entitled to have a handgun to protect their home, [but] what it doesn’t do is entitle deranged people to get easy access to killing machines” said Morgan, presenting a very valid argument.

He then went on to add “It’s a polarizing issue that’s made me popular and unpopular, but I believe it’s the right thing to do. This whole logic of more guns, less crime is so deeply flawed and dangerous, it just has to change”. As far as the petition against Morgan is concerned, the White House released a statement saying Morgan has a right to free speech. It would have been even more apt if the White House had released a statement saying; whatever Morgan is saying about gun control is right.
