Marion Jones smilingMarion Jones is not out of the spotlight yet. You remember her she is the woman who blew everyone away with her track and field performance at the Sydney Olympic games. Jones and her husband made a positive choice and decided to buy a nice new home.  A much bigger nicer home, in fact this house has three living rooms. Why do you need three?

The only person in their right mind to have three living rooms better have a ton of kids to fill the house. Her and her husband went from a two thousand square foot home to a three thousand square foot home. It also has huge master bedroom, four bedrooms, a wooden deck, two and a half baths, and a huge backyard. Not everything was this bright for the previous gold medalist.

Back in 2000 she did not have such stunning positive news as she announced she was using performance enhancing drugs. Marion Jones Running2Not a good idea especially in the Olympics. She had sent a notice in advance she was taking the performance enhancers, and that she will lose her medal accomplishments. The reputation to the sport was well in jeopardy, and the Olympic committee would not have it. They stripped three gold medals and two bronze from her humiliating her in front of her country, friends, and family. She pleaded guilty to fraudulent charges from lying to federal agents about her drugs. Her two year suspension from competition was not enough for the committee. She spent six months in a federal prison along with a  two year probation.

Through all the rough times of legal troubles Marion went ahead and retired from her career of running. She figured she embarrassed her country and family enough. She managed to stay out of the spotlight for a few years until recently. Through everything Marion did show an interest in speaking to the youth about her experiences with the federal charges for lying to federal authorities and using drugs.

For now and hopefully for years to come she will continue to make a positive impact on everyone and help others who try their hardest to become legends like she once was. Light at the end of the tunnel is still there for Marion Jones. Positive and remarkable courage is what Marion will need if she strides to become a living legend and Olympian once again.
