Intelligent, talented, generous and beautiful, these are qualities most women want and would be happy to have said about them. Nicole Scherzinger is all this and more, but has recently revealed to VH1 Behind The Music that she suffered with bulimia while part of the Pussycat Dolls. I truly hope that woman read this and gain some strength for there own battle with self-image.
We see beautiful women all around us TV, magazines, billboards, shop windows and countless ads, making us feel self –concuss because we’re not perfect like them. But do we take the time to think that they (the beautiful women) are as unhappy and self-concuss about their bodies as we are? Now I’m aware that bulimia and other eating disorders are not caused solely by a negative self-image, but from serious mental issues as well.

InVH1’s up-coming interview with Nicole Scherzinger, the former Pussycat Doll lead singer opens up about her time with the group saying ‘I just hated myself,’ Scherzinger said. ‘I really was so disgusted with myself and so embarrassed. I felt so alone. I was in a group, and I never felt so alone in my life.’  It’s not clear weather it was a poor body image or her dissatisfaction with her work at the time as to why the self-abuse started, Scherzinger goes on to say ‘did it everyday. ‘Every time I had a second to be alone, I was doing something to myself. You get, like, blisters on your hands or scars on your hands, and I’d try to hide those. I think the girls could tell.

Celebrities have the misfortune of living in the spotlight, because they are rich, famous and beautiful, they have a perfect life. Nope! We are all struggling to over come something in our lives, I for one applaud Nicole Scherzinger for her bravery in coming out with her very private addiction.
