Michael Clark Duncan and Omarosa Were Planning to Marry

Surely no one, who has seen The Green Mile, can today stop thinking about it, on hearing the tragic news of Michael’s demise. He moved his audience with the portrayal of the character John Coffey in this movie, in a way that is difficult to put forth in words. He shall possibly be remembered the most for this one movie, more than the others that he has acted in. His death truly seems like something out of a movie.

In fact, just like you hope while watching The Green Mile that John Coffey could go on living, everyone probably wishes the same had been true, even in real life. For those grieving his death, the grief might compound even further on knowing that, he was planning to marry in just a few months. The 54-year old actor was all set to marry his sweetheart Omarosa Manigault, in the month of January.

Therefore, it is difficult to imagine the extent of Omarosa’s grief, at this given point. The signs were ominous as far as Michael’s health was concerned. He as it turns out, suffered a heart attack in the month of July. Omarosa was there when it had happened, and she had administered CPR, which managed to buy him a few more breaths. He was then hospitalized, but unfortunately never managed to recover. It’s even more devastating to learn that Omarosa had left town briefly for an engagement and just returned to L.A. on Monday night, by which time Michael had already breathed his last.

It’s also been revealed that, the couple had kept their engagement a secret specifically from the media and only their close friends and family were in on it. You can’t help but question the fairness of life, when a person who is so close to celebrating the happiest day of his life, is deprived of it, for no fault of his. Here’s hoping that his fiancé and his family find the courage to cope with this loss. As for his fans, they can probably watch The Green Mile once again and let John Coffey work his magic.
