It has been revealed that Marc Anthony has broken up with his breathtakingly beautiful Venezuelan girlfriend Shannon de Lima, who is a model.  ”The amicable breakup became official right in mid-January” Anthony’s rep was quoted as saying, officially confirming the break up. It was barely a year ago that the two had begun seeing each other. Anthony’s relationship was revealed when he had a little more than a year ago, openly expressed his love and affection for de Lima through a tweet. “A mi @Shadelima mi estatua de libertad. Besos bebe,” he had tweeted, which translates into English as “To @Shadelima, my statue of liberty. Kisses baby.”

It is also being reported that the news of the breakup came moments after Anthony met his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez in New York. But it would be wrong to read too much into the whole thing. Although many of you are surely hoping that JLo and Anthony would reconcile, but for now it’s better to hold your horses till something is officially declared. The details of their meeting is unknown, but it also augers mention that the two keep meeting on and off. Let us not forget that the two are also business partners and hence their meetings could be purely professional.

My life is really good right now” JLo was quoted as saying, while describing how well her relationship with Smart is going. For those unaware, Marc Anthony is an American actor, record producer and singer-songwriter. He also holds the unique distinction of being the highest selling tropical salsa artist of all time. Not only has he twice won a Grammy but is a three-time Latin Grammy winner. His popularity is evidenced by the fact that he has sold more than 12 million albums globally.

He has also acted in a number of films, some of which were big Hollywood productions like Martin Scorsese’s 1999 drama Bringing Out the Dead, and in 2001, opposite Salma Hayek, in the film In the Time of the Butterflies, then In Man On Fire (2004) alongside Denzel Washington. As far as his personal life is concerned, Lopez and Anthony married on June 5, 2004, less than a week after his divorce from his previous wife was finalized. Lopez then gave birth to their children, twins Emme Maribel Muñiz and Maximillian David Muñiz on February 22, 2008. Anthony and Lopez announced their separation in July 2011, with Anthony filing for divorce on April 9, 2012.
