LMFAOUpdate: According to Popcrush, the band LMFAO is not breaking up, but on hiatus. The offical report says:

“On Friday, it was announced that the curly do-ed, drink enthusiast duo were going on a hiatus — which is true. Redfoo told an Australian news outlet, “I feel like we’ve been doing this for so long, five or six years, and we’re kind of like saying, well, let’s just do what’s natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time.” In short? They weren’t having fun or being inspired much, so they’re diving into other things.”

Let us hope that the party isn’t quite over yet.

LMFAO is no longer a duo. Redfoo will now be rocking all by his lonesome, without his partner, Sky Blu. The duo will be taking a break from the group to really focus on their own personal interests. Redfoo spoke about his nephew, Sky Blu, and the time off by saying “I feel like we’ve been doing this for so long, five or six years. And we’re kind of like saying, well, let’s just do what’s natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time.

The big haired Redfoo, who is 37 years old, has not only recorded his own solo album, but has also taken a step towards the big wide world of sports. He sat in the stands of the U.S. Open and rooted for his best friend, Victoria Azarenka, who played against Serena Williams in the women’s championship and lost. He has also peformed a bit with the Fierce Five, the United States gold medal winning Olympic gymnastics team. Redfoo has also been taking up the racket himself, coaching a junior player on the tennis courts in Vegas.

Redfoo said that he has been coaching Ayaka Okuno several hours a day. He said he uses the Phil Jackson approach when he’s teaching vague Redfooconcepts. He wants to teach her how to think for herself, and he said that she is very good at self analyzing.

Redfoo is also planning on starting his very own line of tennis wear and will be sponsoring the United States Tennis Association’s Party Rock Open in Las Vegas this Sunday. Redfoo is also making some time for the New England Patriots. He is currently working on a son for them. He said that the Krafts, who own the team, actually asked him to write a song for the new season.

Though Redfoo is continuing on his own in music, he said he has no idea when he’ll right again for LMFAO. He said that he and Sky Blu are heading in different directions now. They just ended up hanging out with different crowds and different types of people. But, while they may be heading in different directions, they are still family. “He’ll always be my nephew, I’ll always be his uncle,” Redfoo stated.

Redfoo will not be straying too far from the sound we’ve come to know and love. He said that the music he is making will sound a lot like his previous tunes, which is news I’m sure his fans will be grateful for. Redfoo was definitely passionate about bringing the party to the people and he will continue to do so.

Let us remember the good ole days
