Kate Middleton Topless Photographer To Be Arrested

Submitted by on October 29, 2012 – 12:35 pm Comments

The photographer who caused Kate Middleton and the British Royal Family a huge amount of embarrassment a few months ago might soon be arrested. Turns out, the culprit paparazzo’s name has been given to the French Police, who have sprung into action and are investigating the matter. The French on their part would want to deal with this matter as swiftly as possible, as the whole issue took place on French soil.

A preliminary criminal investigation was launched last month after the publication of the images in French ‘Closer’. “A name has been offered,” a source close to the case was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. “The photographer is expected to be held for question[ing]… imminently” the source has added. The question one might as here is, what is the point of questioning the photographer? When had to happen has already happened. The photographer can be reprimanded for what he has done and even punished for it, but questioning him about the issue possibly wouldn’t reveal much more than already is out in the open.

The French public prosecutor Marie-Christine Daubigney on her part was quoted as saying: “This new information regarding the photographer will be passed on to investigating magistrates”. The new information in this case, being the identity of the photographer. Once the identity of the photographer is made public, he might in fact gain international notoriety and the whole issue which is slowly dying down, might be fuelled once again.

‘Metro’ has even claimed that, the photographer is one of a “notorious band” of press who followed Princess Diana in the week leading to her death in 1997. Probably it’s this fact that, the police want to investigate further, to see if there is more to the whole issue than meets the eye. A royal source added to The Mirror: “William and Kate are determined to bring the person who took those photos to justice and they’re pushing hard for a custodial sentence. They want to make an example of this person”. If found guilty the photographer would not only face a jail term but could also be fined to the tune of  £36,000 for breach of privacy.
