John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John Back Together for Christmas Album
When John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John sang “You’re the One That I Want” on the movie “Grease”, Americans and other nations fell in love with the greasy thug and proper girl turned bad girl instantly. With catchy lyrics and killer dance moves, it seemed like the pair were perfect together musically. However, the pair never sang after that and the world was crushed.
However, have no fear “Grease” fans! The duo has decided that they are reuniting for a Christmas Album. The album, ‘This Christmas’ will feature 13 songs. One of the songs that many are most anticipating is “I Think You Might Like It”. The reason for the hype is because the song was written by John Farrar, the songwriter for “Grease”. Tell Me More! The song is said to be the “sequel” of sorts to the hit song “You’re the One That I Want”.
The album cover may be a little cheesy, but for Travolta who is 58 and Newton-John, who is 63, it seems perfect with a nice cup of Cocoa. The album is to give fans the joy of the pair singing together once again and is to help the Jett Travolta Foundation and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Both are wonderful causes that everyone is sure to jump at. To be able to hear them on a record again is a great thing. With the many times that the pair have entertained us, it is only right that we, the public, give a little to show the support.
Olivia Newton-John, who battled breast cancer in 1992, has attempted to revive her career and has mainly focused her time and energy with the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre. John Travolta continues to have a successful career and the opportunity to be with “Miss Sandra Dee” again is an honor. US Weekly reports that Newton-John and Travolta said, “John and I have always connected,” she says. “That’s never gone away. When we’re together, we have a good laugh and feel bonded to one another. We’ve been through some amazing experiences together.” To which Travolta adds, “My desire was to make This Christmas an intimate album, not something too ostentatious or showy.”
