Joan Rivers Tells The ADL To STFU!

Submitted by on August 10, 2012 – 2:00 pm Comments

Joan Rivers verses The Anti-Defamation League, who is going to win that war? More than likely the one holding the megaphone. The Anti-Defamation League is slamming Rivers for her comment comparing Costco to Nazi Germany. To which she has very vocally told them “Shut the f**k up!” Joan Rivers you are my hero! Ok well maybe not but still, you have to give her some credit for defending herself. You may know Rivers for her brutal honesty on the Fashion Police which airs on E! Every Friday at 10pm, but the 79 year old comedian also has quite the impressive lineup of books she has written herself. The collection ranges from self-help to humor, fiction to nonfiction with 11 under her belt total.

The Anti-Defamation League is not happy at all about the comment Joan Rivers made during her protest at Costco because they refused to sell her book “I Hate Everything… Starting With Me!” Their reasoning had to do with the amount of foul language Rivers used in the book. (For More details click here). The ADL was angered that during her Tuesday protest Rivers made the statement  ”Costco should not be like Nazi Germany! Next thing they’ll be burning the Bible.”

Officials from the ADL lectured Rivers in a letter written to her stating “Such comparisons only serve to trivialize the Holocaust and are deeply offensive to Jews and other survivors.” And of course Rivers told them to “Shut the f**k up!” via TMZ. She went on to defend herself to E! News stating;  ”Number one, my husband lost most of his family in Auschwitz, so don’t talk to me about the Holocaust, Number two, banning books anywhere is a bad portent. Number three, the ADL should worry more about the world’s attitude toward Israel than waste time and energy on me, because I’m not going to stop saying what I think.”

Guess you cannot please everyone Mrs. Rivers there is always a critic hiding somewhere especially when you are a comedian. Rivers is not going to stop having an opinion as she has the right to say what she wants where she wants, as much as the press has the right to report she said it, and that is just the way the cookie crumbles. However do you think the next story will be “Joan Rivers Banned From Costco?” Guess you never know, because it could happen.
